May 7, 2025 – Washington, DC – Invictus President and COO, Nick Andersen, testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet. The hearing, entitled “Protecting Our Edge: Trade Secrets and the Global AI Arms Race,” examined the role of trade secret protection in U.S. artificial intelligence development and countering economic espionage by foreign competitors and nation-states. The hearing also explored important considerations with respect to protecting U.S. intellectual property as legislation and governmental policy are developed regarding AI competition, transparency, and other issues.
Mr. Andersen is one of five experts appearing before the subcommittee at this hearing, and testified on the threats posed by our near peer adversaries to U.S. AI technologies and their goals to dominate the future of AI. He stated that China does not only seek to “compete with us, but overtake us,” and that the U.S. has between two and five years to close strategic gaps to protect critical AI technologies and infrastructure.
